SunGard Availability Services is an operating group of SunGard Data
Systems.
The Business/Executive Writer (Director-level position) is part of the
Sales Enablement team which reports into the Marketing Strategy /
Product Marketing group.
The Sales Enablement team is responsible for creating external and
internal executive-level Marketing materials, to be used by SunGard
(direct and channel) Sales as well as the Leadership Team during key
customer interactions. These materials include (but are not limited to)
website content, thought leadership briefs, customer facing solutions
presentations, solution-oriented brochures, capability brochures and
other materials that help articulate and demonstrate the VALUE of
SunGard's services.
This position requires an understanding of the IT Operations market
dynamics and buyer behavior, as well as the ability to learn SunGard's
portfolio of solutions and present these to various audiences using a
Problem-Promise-Proof approach. The ideal candidate for the
Business/Executive Writer position must possess impeccable written and
oral communications skills. His/her style must reflect concise and clear
communication of ideas.
The candidate should be able to create concise, executive-level
materials after developing an outline jointly with Product Marketing and
Line of Business executives, conducting research on the subject and
interviewing internal and external subject matter experts.
Sharp analytical thinking and understanding of business fundamentals are
needed to enable the structuring of market-facing materials in a clear,
concise and benefit-oriented way. Quantifiable benefits (such as TCO ,
ROI, time and efficiency improvements) constitute a key component of all
sales enablement materials.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of executive-level, business-issues-driven Marketing
materials, addressing relevant market segment pain-points as requested
by Marketing Strategy team lead. This will require developing a solid
understanding of SunGard AS ' market environment and Lines of Business.
- Development of quantitative-benefit-driven website content and
Marketing collateral pieces highlighting SunGard solutions. These
deliverables will require solid understanding of the role and value of
"points of differentiation" versus competitive "points of parity" and
the ability to distill these in a few, memorable points.
- Support Marketing Operations and Marketing Communication teams with
market-segment-driven value proposition messaging for integrated
marketing lead generation campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Must be a master of the English language creating error-free, concise
and grammatically correct material.
- College Degree in Journalism preferred, but will consider applicants
with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational
requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate work in journalism for top business/IT publications or
Product Marketing writing roles for Fortune 100 companies strongly
preferred.
- Analytical thinking - the ability to distill large amounts of text
into main ideas and apply logic to presenting ideas in logical groupings
(e.g., cause and effect, inferred/deduced, etc.)
- At least 5 years of solid writing and editing experience, with
experience in business-related field. Must be detail-oriented and
deadline-focused.
- Solid Microsoft Word Skills required.
- Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles.
- Writing samples required.
